The chronicles of the time tells us that during the day of the inauguration there was a social dinner, after a touching speech held by Cav. Pietro Calderini, president of the vallarese section of C.A.I.: “It’s impossible to say how magnificent it was: we can only say it was served by the Gugliemina’s. In the middle of the table there was a huge white pizza with the emblems of the Club Alpino, a gracious gift from a member of it, Gaudenzio Cristina. After many vicissitudes during the war period, the hotel remained closed from 1989 to 1993. It was reopened three years ago after many restructuring operations and it’s still run by the descendents of the family who wanted its construction last century.
